On Wednesday, VfL Bochum announced the arrival of two loan signings; both Nils Quaschner and Russell Canouse will be at Castroper Straße next season.

Quaschner arrives from RB Leipzig on a one-year deal with an option to buy at the end of the deal, while Canouse's move from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim is a two-season loan.

It has been a summer of upheaval in the Ruhrpott but these two deals look to be bringing Bochum's busy transfer window to an end.

Quaschner's second chance to shine in the second tier

This is an opportunity for Nils Quaschner to show what he is about, after a season of few chances at RB Leipzig.

While they made the jump to the Bundesliga, he will remain in the second division. He may have made 19 appearances last term, but they totaled only 318 minutes.

Despite a lack of minutes, Quascher has always been able to have some sort of impact on the game and that's exactly what Bochum will want.

The 22-year-old said, "The club wants me unconditionally and that fits well with me." He also credited the talks he held with club officials as another plus point.

Canouse comes in with Bundesliga experience

Russell Canouse arrives having made his Bundesliga debut back in March for Hoffenheim, against VfL Wolfsburg.

The youngster was a substitute and helped his side grind out a vital 1-0 win. It comes as no surprise that his former youth coach, Julian Nagelsmann handed him the chance.

Despite not adding to the tally, the American was captain of that Nagelsmann side and comes with high recommendation from the current Hoffenheim head coach.

Canouse said he was "happy that the move to VfL has finally worked out" and is now aiming to take the "next step and get more playing time at a high level".
