Iceland head into their second game at Euro 2016 having secured an unlikely point against a Cristiano Ronaldo-led Portugal side, one who were uninspired by their star man in a 1-1 draw.

The Nordic nation defended admirably and caught the Portuguese on the counter in their first ever game at a major tournament, Birkir Bjarnason applying a neat finish to equalise after some slack defending from left-back Vieirinha.

However, with the group favourites out of the way, one can expect Lars Lagerbäck's minnows to come out of their shells in the next two games as they aim to get out of the group - starting this evening against Hungary.

Surprise performer meets surprise performer

Hungary, like Iceland, sprung a surprise in their opening fixture as they downed Austria 2-0 - a side featuring names such as David Alaba and Marko Arnautović, who are captained by Premier League winner Christian Fuchs.

However, the Hungarians played some lovely football in the game and, after Alaba hit the post 30 seconds in, were able to record an alarmingly comfortable victory as Adam Szalai ended an 18-month goal drought.

Lagerbäck gave praise to his upcoming opposition for their performance too, telling the media at his pre-match presser that Hungary are "a good team" who he was "impressed with" after their opening win.

"I think they have taken a step forward," he said, with him expecting "a really, really tough game" from a side who are "well organised and work hard."

Qualification the target

However, Lagerbäck doesn't want to concern himself too much with the opposition, and instead focus on his own side.

His comments suggest that we will be seeing more of the Iceland from qualifying than the Iceland from the Portugal draw tonight, with his side to be "going for three points" in both of their upcoming matches.

"We want first of all to qualify, but also to have as good a position as possible in the group. So we'll definitely go for a win."
