Anghel Iordanescu will have a full squad to pick from tomorrow as France host Romania in the opening match of the European Championship.

There had been doubts over Dragos Grigore, but the 29-year-old defender made the plane to Paris, where there training camp is based.

Romania did have another addition at their training session, taking place at the Stade de France, where the opening game will kick-off.

Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos met with the staff and players ahead of the game, which could prove to be an upset from a Romanian side who are capable of anything.

Prior to flying out to France for Euro 2016, Romania had a mixed set of results during their friendly matches.

How did Romania do in pre-Euro 2016 friendlies?

After qualifying ahead of Greece, Iordanescu’s side played Antonio Conte’s Italy in a friendly match, which finished 2-2 following a Bogdan Stancu opening goal, before Florin Andone equalised late on for the Romanians.

Nicolae Stanciu then scored the only goal of the game as Romania beat Lithuania, a massive difference from their game against the Azzurri.

Romania then scraped a draw against current European Championship holders Spain, which featured a weakened side.

Stanciu then opened the scoring against Democratic Republic of Congo, but Iordanescu’s side were unable to hold their lead after they conceded a late equaliser, three minutes from time, which seems to be Romania’s downfall.

Again, Romania managed to take a one-nil lead against Ukraine, but soon shipped four goals before Stanciu was again in the action as he scored Romania’s third, but they weren’t able to grab the equaliser.

Football is certainly a funny old game, too. Romania put five goals past Georgia with goals from Adrian Popa, Gabriel Torje, Claudiu Keseru and Stanciu, alongside the help of an own-goal. Only for Georgia to go on and record a win against Spain.

Can Romania upset the hosts on Friday? Fans around the world will be tuning in to their television sets to find out the outcome.
