Belgium and Switzerland met at the Stade de Suiss in Bern on Saturday as the two teams continued their warm up for Euro 2016.

Marc Wilmots' team are being dubbed as one of the favourites to win the tournament this summer, while Switzerland will be considered as one of the many dark horses on show.

Premier League stars Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne grabbed a goal each for Belgium after they went behind early through Blerim Dzemaili's opener for Switzerland.

Favourites - Dark Horses

The home side were the first to threaten as fullback Michael Lang went close but his shot flew just wide. Dries Mertens would then have a close call of his own as his shot from distance was inches away from hitting the target.

The best moment of the opening half and hour came when De Bruyne was found by Eden Hazard, and the Manchester City man forced Yann Sommer in a great save to keep the score level at 0-0.

Switzerland made the visitors pay for missing the previous chance by going 1-0 just a minute after De Bruyne's chance. A low ball in from the right was cleared poorly by the defence and Dzemaili was on hand to place the rebound past Thibaut Courtois and into the corner for 1-0.

Belgium were level three minutes later thanks to Everton's Romelu Lukaku, who is expected to start at the Euros this summer. Mertens' cross evaded everyone and Lukaku was at the back post to finish.

De Bruyne Delivers

The two sides went into the break with the score at 1-1 to exemplify what was a fairly even first half.

Belgium had the first chance of the second half after De Bruyne broke down the left and got a low cross off but the defender cleared just before it reached the foot of Michy Batshuayi.

Batshuayi was again involved in the 68th minute, latching onto a smart through ball from De Bruyne but the Marseille man couldn't get enough power on his effort and it was saved comfortably.

The second half did lack chances (and goals) but Dzemaili did fashion an opening for Switzerland and fired from distance but it flew a whisker over the crossbar.

The hosts were down to ten men with ten minutes to go as first half substitute Haris Seferovic fouled Jan Vertonghen but seemed to say something to the referee, which may have earned him the early shower rather than the foul itself.

Belgium would capitalise on the red card by going 2-1 up seconds after their opponents were reduced to ten. De Bruyne hit a dipping effort from the edge of the box, which rooted Sommer to spot as he could only watch the ball fly into the back of the net.

The visitors almost sealed the win with a third in 89th minute after Hazard's cross-field pass found Divock Origi, who cut in from the right and his shot took a big deflection, but went wide.

Origi had another golden chance a minute later, this time connecting with an overhead kick from Hazard's cross but Sommer made a wonderful save so the score remained 2-1.

Belgium will face Finland in a friendy on June 1 while Switzerland face Moldova on June 3.
