And on that cue it's time for me to wave farewell in what was a thoroughly intriguing affair. Celtic, heartless on the evening. Malmo, in contrast, were relentless. Europe awaits for the Swede's, but they'll cherish this moment for years to come.

Malmo, though, have generated a proclivity for Scotland bashing. Rangers, Hibernian and now Celtic have all fell at the hands of the Swedish outfit since 2011.

Celtic drop into the Europa League and will spend a second successive campaign battling with the taxing Thursday-Sunday schedule. A blessing in disguise for Hearts and Aberdeen, who appear well-equipped to push what is expected to be a jaded Celtic side to the wire.

Celtic are left to rue their first-leg profiligacy. But credit to Malmo who, on tonight's showing at least, deserve their berth in Europe's most esteemed competition.

Euphoria inside the racous Malmo Stadion. A watershed moment for Swedish football, but yet another disastrous evening for Scottish football.

Full time: Malmo FF 2-0 Celtic (agg: 4-3)

FULL TIME AND MALMO QUALIFY FOR THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GROUP STAGES!!!!

Berget ambles off in stoppage time after a throughouly impressive showing. Malmo edging towards victory.

Malmo faithful in full voice. A wonderful evening for Swedish football.

84': Johansen booked for a reckless lunge on Tinnerholm.

Seven minutes remaining on the clock and Malmo lead 2-0.

Substitution for Malmo: Rodic off, Rakip on.

79': Commons take aim from range but his effort sails into the travelling Celtic supporters.

74': Tinnerholm admonished by the referee for a foul on Forrest.

Substitute for Celtic: Ciftci on, Bitton off.

20 minutes to play and Celtic still trail by two.

69': Nadir Ciftci still languishing on the substitutes bench. The forward has yet to net for Celtic since his move from Dundee United this summer, but Deila may be forced to throw caution to the wind.

Celtic may take solace in the fact that one goal alters the complexion of this tie. A deflection, goalkeeping error, a Nir Bitton worldie. They're not out of it yet!

60': CHANCE FOR CELTIC! Wiland caught in no mans land from Mulgrew's cross. But Johansen jumps too early and there is no takers.

59': Celtic under siege. Malmo fans in full voice as they urge their side towards the finish line. Europa League beckons for the Hoops.

Deila looks on in disguist. The visitors now require two unanswered to salvage their hopes. And that looks a considerable task given their inability to defend set-pieces.

Again Celtic are undone from a corner. Carvalho flicks on at the front post and Boyata fires into his own net. Double trouble for Celtic, whose Champions League aspirations are up in the air.

GOALLL!!!! MALMO!!!!!

52': Celtic go close through Johansen, whose flick from Janko's cross goes inches wide of the post.

Correction: Armstrong off, Commons on

Substitute: Forrest off, Commons on.

46': Celtic switch from a throw in and Rosenberg fires wide from Djurdic's cut-back.

Second half kicked off!

Visible to the eye that Arnasson handles the ball when jumping with Bitton. On another evening, that's a red card, penalty and the pendulum swings in Celtic's favour.

Adu, who missed the first-leg in Glasgow last week, has performed immensely in midfield for the hosts. Bitton the standout for Celtic. Griffiths the biggest dissappointment.

Rosenberg's header seperates the sides. Celtic have offered little incision in the final-third and probably deserve to be behind, but they will feel massively aggrieved after replay's show that contact on the Malmo No.1 was minimal.

Half-time: Malmo FF 1-0 Celtic

44': CHANCE FOR MALMO! Lovely move from the Swede's. Rosenberg tees up Djurdic who is denied by a fantastic save from Gordon between the sticks.

43': Berget flicks it round Janko and slids the ball across goal, but Djurdic can't get his foot to it. Last week's hero has been Malmo's most potent attacker thus far.

Boyata, or Bitton, appears to bundle the ball across the line but the referee calls for an infringment on the goalkeeper. Replays show minimal contact. Harsh on the visitors.

GOALLLL!!! OR NOT!! IT'S BEEN RULED OFFSIDE!

39': Boyata, like he did against Inverness last week, nearly gifts Malmo a route to goal with a slack pass across the defence.

Nir Bitton has been Celtic's most impressive player on the night. Fleet-flooted, agile and bullish, he may be another to depart should Celtic fail to qualify tonight.

36': Celtic's midifled is completely bypassed by one throw en route to a Rosenberg chance which Boyata blocks. Still 1-0.

25 minutes have passed and Malmo lead by a goal to nil. Celtic have offered little impetus in the final third and are heading out as it stands.

Rosenberg arrives, unmarked, into the penalty area and headers past a hapless Gordon. Malmo through as it stands.

GOALLL!!! MALMO!!!

12': CHANCE FOR CELTIC! Griffiths races onto an aimless hoof from Boyata and nearly catches the Malmo No.1 off his line.

9': CHANCE FOR MALMO! Berget beats Mulgrew on the flank and delivers across the face of goal. Rosenberg inches away from making contact.

Celtic aiming to kill Malmo's momentum at the root. Boyata and Armstrong already guility of eating up the clock.

2': Berget fires from distance but fails to trouble Gordon.

1': Janko delivers an inviting ball across the face of Griffiths but he can't connect. Promising start from the vistors.

Kick off!

Also an important evening in the future of Virgil Van Dijk. The talented defender is reported to be on the brink of a move to Southampton should Celtic fail to progress through to the group stages.

The travelling contingent are in full voice as Scott Brown prepares to lead his side out. The Celtic skipper has been excellent this year and will be key to Celtic's progression here.

Remember, Celtic hold a 3-2 aggregate lead, with a 0-0 draw enough to seal progression through to the group-stages. Malmo, though, only require a goal-to-nil victory given the away goals rule.

The atmosphere inside the Malmo Stadion, as it affectionaly known, is racous. The belief is palpable. Celtic may be in real trouble should they concede first.

Impossible to stress enough the pressure on Celtic ahead of tonight. Like Bayern Munich in Germany, the side's complete monopoly domestically means the only way to truly assess their ability is on the European front. And that's not to mention the riches which accompany Champions League qualification!

Big call from Deila to jettison the Izaguirre in favour of Charlie Mulgrew. The highly promising youngster, Saidy Janko, signed from Manchester United in the summer, also begins in place of the injured Mikael Lustig.

Malmo XI: Wiland; Tinnerholm, Arnason, Bengtsson, Yotun; Rodic, Lewiski, Adu, Berget; Rosenberg, Djurdjic

Celtic XI: Gordon; Janko, Boyata, Van Dijk, Mulgrew; Brown, Bitton; Forrest, Johansen, Armstrong; Griffiths

Team news incoming!

Malmo will be looking for a repeat of last season, where they overcame a 2-1 first-leg deficit to sweep RB Salzburg aside 3-0. Salzburg later went onto top Celtic's Europa League group and completing the double over the Hoops.

The Swedish outfit will also welcome back top scorer Markus Rosenberg from suspension.

Malmo, meanwhile, boast a formidable home record in European competitions, shipping only one goal in their last ten home European ties. Rangers, ironically, were the last side to breach the Malmo reargued in Sweden, while Hibernian tasted defeat in the Europa League qualifiers several years back before they were desecrated 7-0 in Edinburgh.

The forward netted once again for Celtic at the weekend as they trounced Dundee United 3-1. If Ronny Deila's side are to have any hope of securing Champions League qualification, the ex-Wolves talisman must bring his shooting boots.

Celtic dominated proceedings at Parkhead last week and were lucky not to have the tie wrapped up before the return trip to Sweden. Ex-Celt Jo Inge Berget struck late to salvage his side a lifeline. But Celtic will be bouyed by their impressive attacking showing in Glasgow and, more importantly, the form of Leigh Griffiths in attack.

Hello all! And welcome to VAVEL UK's live minute-by-minute coverage of Celtic clash with Swedish outfit Malmo FF in the Uefa Champions League qualifying rounds. A place in the group stages of Europe's most prized competition awaits for the victors and it promises to be a tasty affair with the hosts boasting two away goals. Celtic, though, hold the aggregreate lead.
