Wales striker Hal Robson-Kanu has completed a Deadline Day move to West Bromwich Albion on an intial two-year contract.

The 27 year-old, arrives at The Hawthorns as a free agent after leaving Reading earlier this summer.

It is The Baggies second signing of the day following the arrival of Allan Nyom from Watford.

Wales give forward permission to travel

The Wales international was given permission to leave their training camp earlier on Wednesday, as Chris Coleman's men prepare for World Cup qualifiers in the next week.

Robson-Kanu starred for his country during Euro 2016, where Wales reached the semi-finals and the forward himself scored a sublime cruyff-turn goal versus Belgium in the last eight.

A former Arsenal youth product, the London-born forward spent 12 years with The Royals youth and senior teams, scoring 24 goals in 198 appearances in the top two tiers of English football.

Robson-Kanu linked across Europe

According to his brother and agent, the Welshman had previous offers across Europe and at home but finally opted to make the switch to West Brom.

The Baggies have struggled for goals under Tony Pulis and after the signing of Nacer Chadli from Tottenham Hotspur on Monday, the club have looked to address the situation.

The move sees Rickie Lambert end a difficult spell at the club, with the striker now completing a switch to Cardiff City

'It's a fantastic club'

On his arrival at West Brom Robson-Kanu stated, “It was an important decision for me and my family and we took our time,” he said. But it’s a fantastic club and manager and I’m really happy to be here."

The Welsh international also expressed he happiness to be back in the English top flight. “I’m particularly pleased to be back in the Premier League. I am grateful for everything that Reading have done for me and I enjoyed my time there." He concludes, "But it’s great to take this step.”

His manager Pulis went on to say, “Everybody enjoyed watching Hal’s contribution to the Welsh performances at the Euros and we’re pleased to have him on board”.
