Tottenham Hotspur have been alerted of the apparent disagreement between Quincy Promes and his current employers Spartak Moscow, after they could not settle on personal terms for a new contract that would keep him at the Russian club.

Previously the North London club have looked at targets like Michy Batshuayi, Alexandre Lacazette, Shane Long and Breed-Donald Embolo but with the emergence of this new target, Tottenham could have another new young talent on the scene.

The rumour mill was added to even more when manager Mauricio Pochettino was spotted watchig Promes in action for his country last week, alongside other members of his White Hart Lane staff.

Quincy Promes’ current form

Promes has netted an impressive 31 goals for the Moscow club in a short spell of only two seasons.

However, unfortunately we will not be able to see the best of the young star this summer as his home nation, Netherlands, failed to qualify for the 2016 Euros in France.

The winger previously played for FC Twente where he was teamed up with current Tottenham star Nacer Chadli. Chadli may be crucial in pushing this deal across the line as he may be the one person to persuade Promes to join the Lillywhites.

Too many attackers for one team?

Spurs currently have at least seven attacking minded players among their ranks, some of which include golden boot winner Harry Kane, England star Dele Alli and promising winger Erik Lamela

With this many attackers already in the squad, will Promes find it hard to guarantee himself a starting position in the Tottenham 11?

However, players like Nacer Chadli, Clinton N’Jie and Heung-Min Son have been unimpressive throughout the season so it may become very easy for the Dutch winger to battle his way into the Tottenham main frame.

Mauricio Pochettino uses a formation which incorporates two wingers, one on the left and one on the right. Promes normally plays on the right of the midfield for Spartak so should the winger decide to sign he may apply pressure on Erik Lamela to start performing to guarantee his starting poisition.

Promes would certainly be a valued asset for Tottenham and may be the player to push Tottenham to their first Premier League title next season.
