Harry Kane has been awarded with the Premier League's Player of the Month award for March of this year, following a sensational month of action for the striker.

It's the third time Kane has won the award, an impressive achievement given he's only 22-years-old, and only broke into the Tottenham Hotspur first team during late 2014. The striker previously won the award in January and February of last year.

Kane's magical March

Kane enjoyed a fantastic run of form in March, scoring five goals in four games to help Tottenham continue their title challenge. Those goals have put him on 22 already for the league this season, placing him top of the scoring charts, ahead of the likes of Jamie Vardy, Romelu Lukaku and Sergio Aguero.

A disappointing start to the month may have given him the motiviation to perform so well in the remaining three games, as Spurs slipped to a 1-0 defeat away to London rival West Ham United.

The next game was an even bigger derby, White Hart Lane playing host to the North London Derby against Arsenal. Kane made his mark in an exciting match that eventually finished 2-2, curling into the top corner from an impossible looking angle.

He followed that up with a braces at Villa Park and his home ground, scoring both goals as Tottenham beat Aston Villa 2-0, before getting another two in the 3-0 home win against AFC Bournemouth, leaving manager Mauricio Pochettino to hail him as 'world class'.

This excellent form saw Kane beat the likes of Riyad Mahrez, Dimitri Payet, Wes Morgan, Graziano Pelle and Ashley Williams to the award. Claudio Ranieri picked up the manager's award.

Striker keen to push on

Speaking to the club's official website after winning the award, Kane reflected that "it was important to get back to winning ways" after failing to win the first two games of the month.

The striker felt that his goal against the Gunners was "one of my better goals", adding that he was "delighted to score" in the final two games of the month too, and that he'll "hopefully get a few more goals and continue to push on" in the coming months.

Kane's next opportunity to impress will come on Sunday, with Spurs hosting Manchester United
