Kieran Trippier has completed his move to Tottenham Hotspur, with the Burnley right-back signing a five-year deal.

Burnley were relegated last season, and a clause in Trippier's contract means the defender can talk with other clubs. In this case, Tottenham.

Speaking about the deal Trippier said he: "didn't have to think twice," when he heard that Spurs were interested.

"It's such a big club and now I just can't wait to get started and show everyone what I can do."

Mauricio Pochettino has already signed 1.FC Köln's Kevin Wimmer on a five-year deal, meaning Trippier becomes the Argentine's second signing.

Trippier added that he will: "take every opportunity," with "both hands and hopefully play my part for everyone at the club.

"Whenever I get a chance, I want to do well for the other players, the staff and, of course, the fans."

This deal means Kyle Walker could find his place under threat, whilst DeAndre Yedlin may be looking for a loan move to gain first team experience.

With the signings of Wimmer and Trippier, Pochettino clearly feels his side need to strengthen from the back as they prepare for the new season.

Spurs will also look to increase the competition in the forward department. With Emmanual Adebayor very unlikely to play regularly, and Roberto Soldado not performing as well as expected, Pochettino may well look to add to his squad, after being linked with the likes of Christian Benteke.
