On Friday, Yeovil Town announced the arrival of a second young loanee from Swansea City.

This time, Ryan Hedges will make Huish Park his temporary home until January.

He will join fellow Swansea team-mate, Liam Shephard at the club as both aim to gain experience and game time with the Glovers.

A chance to shine

Hedges is yet to get a sniff around the first-team with Swansea, featuring 14 times for the under-21 side during their under-21 Premier League campaign.

He has spent time away on loan at both Stevenage and Leyton Orient, and it was at the latter where he had the most success.

The 21-year-old grabbed two goals and three assists in 17 games, his first in professional football, as he attempts to make his way up the ranks.

With his contract at Swansea coming to an end this summer, this could well be a make-or-break loan for the promising youngster.

Hedges is Yeovil's sixth signing thus far. He joins Shephard, Tom Eaves, Otis Khan, Joe Lea and Joshua Ezewele at Huish Park next season.

Way has his say

Manager, Darren Way was understandably pleased to captured Hedges' signature, admitted he was "delighted" and that he felt "very lucky to get him".

He explained that "there was plenty of interest" from other teams, adding that he "must thank" those involved at the Welsh side and also Hedges' agent.

The Yeovil boss went on to say, "Ryan has a superb left foot and is a quick and intelligent player."

Hedges himself said he was "very pleased to arrive in Yeovil", as well as saying he had been "made very welcome".

The youngster concluded, "We are already working hard and looking forward to the new season."
