There have been many derbies that will be fondly remembered by the Blue half of Manchester, but here's a possible top three of recent times. So, in no particular order let's begin.
23rd October 2011 - United 1-6 City
Let's get the most obvious one out the way but what a derby it was. It is a day that will remain with Blues fans for years to come, an emphatic and ruthless performance by Roberto Mancini's men saw Sir Alex Ferguson's ten man United hit for six. It was a record breaking derby too, United's heaviest Premier League defeat and the first time they had conceeded six at home since 1930. This win took City to the top of the table going five points clear in the process and they would later go on to clinch their first Premier League title.
9th November 2002 - City 3-1 United
It was the final Manchester Derby to be held at Maine Road before City made the move to the then, 'City of Manchester' Stadium. A fitting send off to a stadium that had seen some of City's best and worst times. This victory also saw City end a dismal 13 year run without a derby victory, their first victory over United since 1989. It was an extra special day for City striker Shaun Goater, the Bermudian scoring his 99th and 100th Manchester City goal in what would be his final season with the Blues.
16th April 2011 - City 1-0 United (FA Cup semi-final)
When the draw was made for the FA Cup semi finals many would have been rubbing their hands together at the prospect of the two Manchester clubs meeting, a bit too early perhaps? City would progress to the final, eventually winning the competition itself, thanks to a Yaya Toure strike early on in the second half.
Despite it not being an action packed game it was a statement for City, they were finally beginning to shake off the stereotype that they were 'little citeh'. Beating their bitter rivals in a cup match at Wembley, it couldn't get any better as City reached their first FA Cup final for 30 years.
