Sergi Canos could be handed a surprise debut in Liverpool's final Barclays Premier League game of the season away at West Bromwich Albion on Sunday afternoon.

Jürgen Klopp revealed in the aftermath of Wednesday night's 1-1 draw with Chelsea, the final Anfield fixture of the campaign, that the Spanish winger had returned from his fruitful loan spell at Brentford and would train with the first-team.

The highly-rated 19-year-old will be in attendance at Melwood throughout the remainder of the week having scored seven goals in 39 appearances at the Championship club, one of which earned him the club's Goal of the Season award after a sensational strike at Reading back in December.

And with the Reds boss expected to field a rotated starting eleven with the UEFA Europa League final against Sevilla in Switzerland just three days' later, Canos is reportedly in line for a maiden appearance for the Reds' senior side.

Klopp, speaking after Christian Benteke headed home a late equaliser to earn his side a late point against Chelsea in mid-week, told the press that Canos would be "in training tomorrow [Thursday] because he is back."

The German told journalists that he learns "more and more about English football" every day and that it's "possible that he [Canos] is available [to play] for Sunday" which he called "unbelievable and great."

Klopp explained that he and his backroom staff will "see how he feels" and "how he is" and make a decision closer to the time of the game, but declared that Spain Under-19 international Canos "did really well" at Brentford.

"He scored in the last game and had a lot of time to play," continued the manager on the teenager's loan spell with the Bees, insisting it was "really good" for Canos to be at Griffin Park and suggesting he could be rewarded for his progress with a cameo at the Hawthorns this weekend.

Klopp added: "The Championship is quite a strong league and for young players it is really difficult to go through, but he did well."

Canos, speaking to Brentford's official website last month, insisted that he had "enjoyed it [his loan spell] a lot" with it his "first experience in professional football." He continued that it was "great" for him and his family and enthused that "everything has been amazing."
