Liverpool Ladies have completed yet another signing go add to their busy transfer business.

Alex Greenwood, an England international, has made the move from Notts County. This also means that Greenwood returns to her home.

Greenwood and Rogers describe the deal

Talking about the move, Greenwood says, "This is a fantastic move for me, I am really enthusiastic about the new season." She talked about having had a great year at Notts County but this deal "represents an exciting, new challenge and one that [she is] really looking forward to".

Liverpool-born Alex Greenwood started her career at Everton at the age of eight and made her first team debut in August 2010. In her four years at the club, she made 38 appearances and scored 1 goal. She then moved to Notts County, featuring six times and scoring once in her short stint there.

Liverpool manager Scott Rogers, who took over from Matt Beard at the end of last season, feels that "Alex is a top quality defender" and she is another crucial addition in helping them to improve on last season.

He also believes she is "outstanding offensively" as well as offering them a threat from set pieces due to her "superb delivery from dead ball situations".

After hearing of the loss, an avid Notts County fan said: "Alex Greenwood was a fundamental part of our 2015 campaign and we will all be sad to see her move on. She was a much loved member of the team but when a player wants to move on it is very hard to stop them."

They added, "I can see her going on to be one of the most recognisable faces in English football and wish her every success."

A busy transfer window

Liverpool lost many crucial players in this transfer window. Doncaster Belles acquired Katrin Omarsdottir, Becky Easton and Natasha Dowie from them. Lucy Staniforth went to Sunderland and Libby Stout has joined Matt Beard at Boston Breakers. The biggest loss was Fara Williams, who went to Arsenal.

Despite their losses, they have made some signings to try and replace the players that have departed. They have signed names from abroad and in the FA WSL such as Natasha Harding, Siobhan Chamberlain and Emma Lundh.
