Liverpool FC have officially completed a deal for teenage midfielder Allan Rodrigues de Souza from Porto Alegre-based side S.C. Internacional, who has been sent out on loan.

Despite announcing the deal via their official Twitter account earlier in the summer, the Reds didn't file the paperwork for the £500,000 deal until Tuesday evening - but they were allowed time to extend the deadline and later received confirmation that the deal for the 18-year-old had gone through.

With the deal announced by the club on Wednesday morning, Allan has been sent him out on loan to Finnish team Seinajoen Jalkapallokerho until January, allowing him to acclimatise to European football as opposed to plying his trade in the Reds' under-21s.

The Brazilian joins compatriots Lucas Leiva, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino at Anfield, and was included in the 18-man Liverpool squad against HJK Helsinki in their penultimate pre-season friendly earlier in the summer - though he didn't come off the bench.

Midfielder seen as one for the future despite no obvious short-term impact

Allan, who never made a first-team appearance in his homeland, impressed scouts at the under-18s Frenz International Cup in Indonesia and Kuala Lumpur earlier this year, scoring two goals in five games as his side retained the title.

After the tournament's conclusion, he was given permission to spend time on Merseyside with Liverpool and was seen training with the Reds first-team.

The young midfielder also took part in three friendlies, including a mid-season clash against Birmingham City last week as he scored a spectacular strike in the U21s' 3-1 win.

He follows fellow youngster Taiwo Awoniyi in joining Brendan Rodgers' side, after the Nigerian striker completed his £400,000 switch from Imperial Academy on Monday before being loaned out to German side FSV Frankfurt for a full season.

Awoniyi failed to acquire a work permit to feature for Michael Beale's U21s, but both the 18-year-old and Allan are seen as prospects for the long-term future.
