Queens Park Rangers have signed Gabriele Angella on loan, the club have confirmed.

Angella joins the Championship outfit on a season-long loan from Watford, having fallen out-of-favour at the club, despite featuring 36 times last term as they won promotion to the Premier League.

Club delighted with signing

Speaking to QPR's official website, manager Chris Ramsey said that Angella is "a quality addition" whose arrival means that the team have "decent competition now in the back four," whilst his "experience," which came "at a level where he was promoted with Watford," will be "a big positive" too.

Ramsey concluded by saying that he is "delighted" that the club got the deal done before this evening's deadline.

Les Ferdinand, the club's Director of Football, also spoke about Angella's arrival, saying that QPR "have been keen to add another defender" to their team, and thus they are "pleased" to have recruited the 26-year-old.

Ferdinand said that the player is "a big threat at set-pieces," as well as being "a very good defender," which is a positive as "the more goal-scorers" in the team, "the better."

Player also happy with the move

Angella himself also spoke about his temporary switch, admitting that he is "very happy" about the "big opportunity" he has been given by QPR, and also happy to be at a "great club with big history."

The Italian defender admitted that he has "enjoyed every minute" of his "two years in England" so far, saying that it is "a great place to play," and he is now looking forward to this "new page in the book of [his] career."

He concluded by saying that he "just want[s] to play and improve," and that his aims for the season are "to help the club" and to "do [his] best," whilst "show[ing] the fans what [he] can do."
