Championship side Bolton Wanderers have confirmed two new signings as the summer transfer window officially opens, with Ben Amos and Gary Madine putting pen to paper at the Macron Stadium.

Meanwhile, experienced midfielder Darren Pratley has signed a new contract at the club, adding a further three years to his current deal.

Amos seemed destined for the top at United

25-year-old goalkeeper Amos had been touted as a potential star for the future after he came through the Manchester United academy, but his Red Devils contract was allowed to expire this summer.

The former England youth international has already spent numerous loan spells around the Football League and abroad, most recently making nine league appearances for Bolton last season.

However, after making just seven senior appearances for United in seven seasons in the first-team squad, he was deemed surplus to requirement by Louis Van Gaal, with Neil Lennon moving fastest to secure his signature on a four-year deal.

Madine moves from Wednesday

24-year-old forward Madine, meanwhile, has signed a two-year contract with the Trotters after the expiry of his contract with Championship rivals Sheffield Wednesday.

Madine too had been shipped out on loan numerous times in recent seasons, and spent the end of last term with relegated Blackpool, scoring twice in 15 league appearances.

He boasted a scoring record of around one in four for the Owls, with 26 strikes in 101 league outings during his four-year stint at the club.

Pratley signs on

Pratley, now, 30, has also officially confirmed a three-year extension to his Bolton contract.

The former Fulham and Brentford man joined from long-term previous club Swansea City in 2011, and has since gone on to make more than a century of appearances for the Trotters in all competitions.

He was called up to the Jamaica squad in 2009 but was forced to pull out through injury, and has failed to make an appearance for his nation since then.
