Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Jason Steele has spoken about his side's controversial loss against Fulham on Sunday, but says that he and his teammates must move on to the next game.

Rovers looked to have come from 2-0 down to snatch a point against the Cottagers, but Jordan Rhodes' penalty proved to be in vain as Gary Bowyer's side were left frustrated by what they saw as a perfectly good goal not given.

The incident has led to yet another resurfacing of the seemingly never-ending debate about goalline technology in football, with some claiming that the lack of technology - which is present in the Premier League - in the Football League is a sign of the game's governing body's profit-oriented priorities.

Rovers can't afford to sit and lick their wounds

But, despite Steele admitting to the club's website that the squad was "in shock" and "gutted" after a "heartbreaking" defeat, he went on to admit that they do not have time to feel sorry for themselves.

Blackburn currently sit third from bottom in the Championship table with just three points from three games, and face a difficult trip to recently-relegated QPR on Wednesday evening.

Steele noted that "nobody is going to feel sorry for us", saying that Rovers have to simply "go again on Wednesday" if they are to dig themselves out of their current poor form.

Steele remains confident of victory

And despite the shock of an apparently undeserved loss, there is still confidence to be found in the Blackburn camp.

Steele said that the rest of the team had been "brilliant" in the second-half comeback that wasn't against Fulham, and claimed that if they kept playing so well, "we aren't far from giving someone a hiding".

Blackburn have a number of tricky fixtures in the coming weeks, with games against Charlton Athletic and promotion-chasing pair Hull City and Ipswich Town all to come in the next three weeks.
