It has been confirmed by the Football Association that England manager Sam Allardyce has left his role with the national side after just one game in charge.

End to the dream job

Allardyce's exit was confirmed on Tuesday, after just 67 days in charge, and the one game with the World Cup qualifier win over Slovakia.

His exit comes after an investigation from The Telegraph, claiming that Allardyce told undercover reporters that there is ways to get around FA rules of third party ownership of player's economic rights.

A FA statement read: "The FA can confirm that Sam Allardyce has left his position as England manager."

"Allardyce's conduct, as reported today, was inappropriate of the England manager," and firmly admitted "He accepts he made a significant error of judgment and has apologised."

The statement continued: "However, due to the serious nature of his actions, The FA and Allardyce have mutually agreed to terminate his contract with immediate effect."

"This is not a decision that was taken lightly but The FA's priority is to protect the wider interests of the game and maintain the highest standards of conduct in football. The manager of the England men's senior team is a position which must demonstrate strong leadership and show respect for the integrity of the game at all times."
