The  Estadio Santiago Bernabéu awaits as Real Madrid host Bayern Munich in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final.

This will be the 28th time in their long and distinguished histories that the two sides cross paths in the Champions League

The first leg certainly didn't fail in living up to its hype in a thrilling 2-2 encounter, which saw Vinicius Junior picking up a brace.

Real Madrid were still able to display their masses of quality despite the first leg being away from home.

Toni Kroos produced arguably the assist of the tournament with a lovely through ball which split Bayern's backline before Vinicius slotted home in the first half.

Bayern responded with elegance and quality from Jamal Musiala on the ball, let alone Leroy Sane who netted a thunderous near-post finish.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side have not lost a Champions League knockout game at home in four years and are currently favourites to progress to the final where they will face either Borussia Dortmund or Paris Saint-Germain.

  • Team News

Real Madrid

Aurelien Tchouameni remains the only injury concern for Los Blancos. The Frenchman was struggling in training session held last week after playing in 2-2 draw at Allianz Arena.

David Alaba remains unlikely to feature, however Thibaut Courtois is set to make the squad albeit on the bench after coming back from long term knee injury.

Bayern Munich

Injury issues continue to persist for Thomas Tuchel's side, who will be without Kingsley Coman (groin) and Raphael Guerreiro (ligament).

Eric Dier was forced off during loss to Stuttgart on Saturday, although is still set to feature.

Late decisions will be made on Matthijs de Ligt and Dayot Upamecano.

  • Key Players

Real Madrid: Vinicius Junior

13 goals and five assists in the La Liga this season - the importance of the Brazilian simply cannot be underestimated for Real Madrid

The abundance of pace that he possesses proves to be a dangerous threat for any opposition in the world, coupled with the flair and unpredictability on the ball.

His linkup and cohesion with the likes of Rodrygo, Toni Kroos and Jude Bellingham caused damage in the first leg where he netted a brace and should've had a hattrick.

With the home advantage in second leg, Madrid will look to control the game in shots on target and xG (expected goals), despite not dominating much of the possession.

You would like to think the ever potent Brazilian will be star of the show - up against a makeshift and ever changing Bayern defence that lacks a defender anywhere near the pace to match the explosiveness in Vinicius Junior.

Bayern Munich: Jamal Musiala

Currently one of the most established exciting prospects in Europe, Jamal Musiala continues to showcase his talents on a consistent basis.

Musiala had completed 5/6 dribbles in the first leg of the semi-final, able to prove his flexibility despite playing off the right wing.

His natural knack of finding spaces in-between the lines and in half spaces on the turn may well prove to be one of many ways they can unlock Madrid's stubborn defence.

The physical and technical threat the young man possesses will be hugely needed if Bayern Munich are to beat serial winners Real Madrid and progress into the Champions League final.
